Anne Hathaway made her screen debut with an episode in the series “Luzik Guzik”, and today she is considered one of the biggest stars of American cinema. She starred in many hit productions, both on the small and big screen. The most popular ones include: Garry Marshall, “Alice in Wonderland” or “Les Miserables” by Tom Hooper, for which she received an Oscar. However, fame did not always go hand in hand with happiness in private life.

At the peak of her career, the 22-year-old actress met an Italian entrepreneur specializing in real estate, Rafaello Follieri. The man impressed her with his diligence and charitable activities, as he ran the Follieri Foundation, headquartered in Manhattan, within which he organized numerous charity events, and allocated the funds raised, among others, to: for vaccination of children in Africa. Mutual sympathy quickly turned into a relationship and for the next 4 years they were considered a harmonious and happy couple.

The spell was broken when, in 2008, Follieri was accused of financial fraud and was imprisoned. It turned out that the foundation he founded was just a cover for doing shady business. When the allegations were proven and the man received a prison sentence, the actress couldn’t believe it. She talked about the breakup with bitterness in interviews. – What I took for love during the four years of our relationship turned out to be false – .

When she met him, she felt he was the one. Today they have been married for 11 years

After the turbulent end of the relationship, which adversely affected her reputation and career, she declared that she would never trust any man again. A few months later, however, she changed her mind for jewelry designer Adam Shulman, whom she met through mutual friends. – When I saw Adam, I knew he was the one. I said I would marry this man. My friend must have thought I was crazy. Which is not entirely untrue – she recalled with a laugh in “Elle”.

Their relationship developed slowly, as the actress was still heartbroken and unable to fully open up. – I knew from the first moment that he was the love of my life. But I also knew that I couldn’t have met him at a worse time, she recalled. This, however, did not discourage Shuman, who persistently sought her favor. Eventually, they both fell head over heels in love with each other. In 2011, they got engaged and a year later they got married in the seaside town of Big Sur, California. In 2016, the fruit of their love, son Jonathan Rosebank, was born, and three years later the family expanded by another child.
