In an interview for Smutniak magazine, she recalled the moments when she spent time with her grandmother. To this day, she lives in the same apartment, located in one of the blocks of flats in Łódź.

– When I was growing up, I spent a lot of time in her kitchen, which was my whole world back then. There was a small table under the window, a chair next to it, and a radio always on on the windowsill, with music flowing from it. Grandma cooked, listened to the radio, I spent long hours with her in the kitchen, because in a Polish home the kitchen is always the command center. – the 44-year-old recalls with sentiment.

In the program in 2012, Kasia Smutniak, in a conversation with Magda Mołek, talked about what it was like to live in Italy as a Pole. – I am proud to be Polish. Italians call me Polish. They say it like they mean someone punctual, someone who can take care of the house, like a Polish mother. I always say that the food is better in Poland, the coffee is better, even the pizza is better. I don’t like the local pizza, I like the thick one, with onion and sausage. I would even move, but my house is here, I work here. I regret that I don’t live in Poland. The economic situation in Italy is now worse than in Poland.
