The organization of the San Sebastián Jazz Festival has today announced the programming for the paid concerts of its 59th edition (July 23-28), which will be held on the stages of Plaza de la Trinidad, the Kursaal auditorium , San Telmo Museoa and the Victoria Eugenia theater.
Starting, for example, with solo voices, this summer Rufus Wainwright, Diana Krall, the Brazilian Marisa Monte, Silvia Pérez Cruz, the enormous Gregory Porter and the Korean Youn Sun Nah will visit San Sebastián.
In addition, two concert series will be held, one centered around saxophonist John Zorn and another with bassist William Parker as the protagonist. Zorn will offer three concerts, two in the Kursaal auditorium and a third in the Plaza de la Trinidad.
William Parker will give three more concerts in three different spaces, in trio, quartet and duo formats. Jazzaldia offers two subscriptions, one for each of the cycles of both musicians.
In addition, pianist Brad Mehldau will also be at Jazzaldia, supported by a luxury group with Chris Potter on sax, John Pattituci on bass and Johnathan Blake on drums. The public will also enjoy John Scofield and Dave Holland and the pianists Marco Mezquida and Julio Resende and the pianist Marta Sánchez.
Tickets and vouchers for the announced concerts are now on sale both at the box office and on the Jazzaldia and Donostia Kultura websites.
