It’s all because of one of the characters, Rainbow Dash, who has a mane and tail in rainbow colors, which, according to the authorities, is a reference to the symbolism of the movement banned in the country. But that’s not the end.

It is no secret that Russia particularly persecutes LGBT people. The ban on “homosexual propaganda” among minors, introduced over 10 years ago, was only the beginning of the authorities’ irrational actions and decisions. It would seem that the law passed in 2022, according to which there is a general ban on the promotion of non-traditional sexual relations, includes, among others, advertisements, films and TV series are the height of curiosity, but not in Russia. The campaign intensified immediately after the decision issued by the Supreme Court. At that time, the targets included, among others: clubs, mainly those for non-heterosexual people, where a series of brutal searches and attacks were carried out.
