“News” ended differently than usual. Danuta Holecka read the apology
After the last material in the program was broadcast, viewers of “Wiadomości” could see a white board with the text being read. “Telewizja Polska Spółka Akcyjna apologizes to Mr. Bartosz Sadowski for using, without his knowledge and consent, a work of his authorship in the form of a photograph depicting Jan Kulczyk, published during the broadcast of two main editions of the ‘Wiadomości’ news service – on February 21 and 22, 2020 in the TVP program 1, as well as in the electronic version, available at https://wiadomosci.tvp.pl, in violation of the personal copyright of Mr. Bartosz Sadowski,” Holecka read.
When she finished and the camera showed her face again, it was clear that reading the message was quite difficult for the presenter. However, she quickly moved on to the announcement of “Guest News” and said goodbye to the viewers.
Bartosz Sadowski won the lawsuit against TVP. He received an apology
The case concerned Bartosz Sadowski, who won the lawsuit against TVP. Before the elections, the creator wrote on Instagram that “TVP regularly breaks the law, but what’s worse, it ignores final judgments. ‘Wiadomości’ stole my photo of Jan Kulczyk, using it in manipulated and defamatory information. In this case, I won a 2-year-long trial against them under which, in addition to compensation, they should have apologized to me.” The judgment became final in March 2023.
Despite this, Sadowski reported that “Wiadomości” was in no hurry to publish the statement. “My lawyer received information that they do not intend to implement this part of the judgment. The public media at the service of the PiS party ignores final judgments,” he concluded.
