Tax revenues fell 2.6% in November, according to Sunat

The National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) reported that, during the month of November, the tax revenues of the Central Government—discounting tax refunds—reached S/12,328 million. Although this figure is higher by S/113 million in the same month of 2022, it still implies a drop of 2.6% in real terms.

According to the collecting agency, these figures respond to the lower level of economic activity that was observed in October, since most of the economic operations of that month generate tax obligations that are declared and paid in November.

Likewise, the fall in income has been more moderate thanks to the extraordinary payments obtained mainly as a result of the control actions carried out by Sunat, as well as the business operations that increased November collection by S/324 million, exceeding to the S/214 million registered in the same month of 2022.

Tax income

In detail, S/4,537 million were collected for Income Tax, an amount that represents a growth of 2.7% compared to the same month of 2022. While the income from VAT They reached S/7,284 million, which represents a decrease of 8.8% compared to November of last year.

Regarding ISC collection, S/775 million were collected in the penultimate month of the year, which represents a drop of 13.1%. Meanwhile, S/1,298 million was reported for other income, an amount that represents an increase of 3.2%.

Finally, tax refunds made during the month of November amounted to S/1,727 million, an amount that represented a drop of 16.8% compared to the same month in 2022.
