The scriptwriter has died on the same day that the RTVE series ends its broadcast. Two weeks ago Ladrón spoke about her at the Serial Screenwriters conference, organized by the union. It was then that he revealed that ‘Cuéntame’ was going to be called ‘Our Goodbye’. Thus, he reported that the series was rejected by all the networks for 8 years, including TVE, until it bought the series. The screenwriter developed the format, wrote and coordinated much of his scripts for seventeen seasons.

“It was a success from the first moment, to my surprise, we had millions of viewers. And it was very exciting,” stressed the screenwriter, who also stated that he would have liked the series to have been more critical of Francoism and the dictatorship. “Still, we managed to make a critical series,” he added.

The truth is that before ‘Cuéntame’, Ladrón de Guevara participated in the creation of ‘Farmacia de Guardia’ and ‘Los thieves go to the office’, ‘Querido maestro’ or ‘Manolito Gafotas’.
