She sold wafers as an angel. She told the truth about her work. They had receipts ready

Just before Christmas, a familiar sight, including: in shopping centers there are hostesses who sell wafers dressed as angels. The information for the buyer is usually that the person offering the wafer is a volunteer and the money is donated, for example, to a foundation. A certain Tiktoker decided to reveal what it’s really like to work in this capacity.

Kinga shared her own experience on TikTok, describing in detail how the company that sold Christmas wafers operated. Kinga was employed there as a coordinator of a team of “angels” who walked around shopping malls with baskets.

As a former coordinator of the angel campaign that sells wafers in shopping malls, I will tell you why it is one big scam.

– She began.

Generally, these angels have to say that they are volunteers, which means that theoretically they do not get paid for their work, but in fact they were paid normally, an hourly rate plus a sales bonus.

– she continued.

She worked like an angel selling wafers. He reveals what this job was really like

Moreover, as the coordinator, she was to ensure that “all hostesses say that they are volunteers, and that if any inspection comes, they must remember that they are volunteers.” This was what her superiors demanded of her.

I worked with a company that cooperated with a foundation and on these wafers it was written in small print that only 20 percent of the money from sales goes to the foundation. 80 percent stays with the company. But this company still advertises that we collect money for foundations, so the average buyer didn’t realize that only 20 percent goes to foundations.

– we hear on the recording. The wafer she sold was not cheap at all – it cost 10 zlotys. – And now it’s a hit. The company that ran this entire operation belonged to Mrs. “Kowalska” – an example of a surname. And guess who founded the foundation? Also by Mrs. Kowalska, she said.

Basically, this company raised money for a foundation to perform light healing treatments. One treatment cost PLN 3,000. zloty. Only this foundation already had these light healing machines. So it’s a scam, but everything was done legally

– she concluded.

Angels “were already handing out ready-made receipts”

We also learn from the film that the tiktokerka did not have a cash register for half of the campaign. Once she received it, she was ordered to print as many pieces as the number of products she had managed to sell so far. Hostesses dressed as angels did not print receipts on a regular basis – they already had them ready in the basket.

The girls did not receive this money on a regular basis and they could not, oh yes, print these receipts for people when they bought something, but their basket was full of these receipts for PLN 10. And only when people bought something, they issued ready-made receipts

– she explained.

– We sold gingerbread baubles that looked very realistic. People said ‘wow they look real’. And these were old gingerbreads, from a few years ago, which were not sold as eating gingerbreads in previous years and therefore were sold as baubles – the girl recalled.

What does an angel’s work with wafers look like? “Bruised hips from carrying a heavy basket”

A discussion broke out under the posted video. Some Internet users literally did not believe in the “tactics” described by the influencer, and some shared their own experiences. “I was an angel, the worst job in my life,” confessed one of the commenters.

When someone put money into my cup when I was an angel, the woman took the money out of the cup and gave it to me as a payment.

I once stood and collected PLN 160 and got PLN 100 from that basket and she took the rest. So honestly, maybe PLN 30 was spent on the collection

I worked as an angel for a week, if I didn’t collect a given amount during the day, I didn’t earn anything, it’s a disaster

I was an angel, the worst job, the coordinators were extremely rude, there was always one girl who sold a lot per hour and they compared us to her. They said that she made, for example, 40 pieces in an hour, and for example, I had 5 minutes left to finish the hour and there were 3 pieces left to make the minimum, the woman wrote me 30 messages on messenger to hurry up and that if I didn’t make these 3 pieces in 5 minutes, I’m going home. Moreover, the earnings, compared to how much effort it costs, are terribly low. Bruised hips from carrying a heavy basket – we had candles in them so it really wasn’t easy, I was walking all over the gallery, I took the most steps in my life then
