The first Festival of Waldemar Goszcz took place in Wolbórz
The artist came from Wolbórz, where the first edition of the festival named after him took place on November 25 and 26. During the event, twelve young artists took part in a vocal competition headed by Tatiana Okupnik. In addition, workshops and integration were held at the local Cultural Center. The initiative was aimed at young people.
“Residents of Wolbórz and activists of various associations talked about the need to create ‘something’ that would commemorate the figure of Waldemar Goszcz. For several years, I have been maturing what and how to do it. At the same time, I wanted to prepare an event that would not duplicate others, but would achieve the goals of integration. and exchange of artistic experiences. The idea from the beginning was that the participants would come here for two days and we would use all the artistic fields that Waldek dealt with, i.e. modeling, acting and singing,” Kamila Dubilas says about the birth of the idea in an interview with epiotrkow.pl, director of the Wolbork Cultural Center.

Ewelina Hak, a singer who conducted vocal workshops as part of the festival and was a jury member of the competition, emphasized that efforts were made to create conditions for young people to cooperate as best as possible, not just compete. Tatiana Okupnik also spoke about the importance of taking part in the fun: “It’s a competition and usually when you take part in such an event, you cross your fingers to make it as good as possible. Of course, this is important, but the most important thing is that you took part at all. participation in this festival, that you worked on your craft and that you believe in your abilities. I wanted to ask that this passion for singing and willingness to develop your skills stay with you, regardless of the results.
The guests of the final concert also included the parents of the deceased artist. The director of the Wolbork Cultural Center emphasizes that this will certainly not be the last festival named after Waldemar Goszcz organized in his hometown.
