The Mexican actress Melissa Barrera has been fired from the cast of the film ‘Scream VII‘ due to his social media posts in which he accuses Israel of committing “a genocide and ethnic cleansing” in the Gaza Strip.

The film’s producer, Spyglass, has published a statement in which it expresses its “unequivocally clear” position on this matter: “We have zero tolerance for anti-Semitism or hate speech in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, distortion of the Holocaust, or anything that flagrantly crosses the line of hate speech.”

The actress published a story on her Instagram account in which she stated that Gaza “is being treated like a concentration camp.” “People have not learned anything from our stories. And just like our stories, people continue to watch in silence how everything happens,” lamented the actress.

Barrera starred in the previous installment of the saga, ‘Scream VI’, which grossed $168.9 million worldwide. The movie director, Christopher Landonpublished a message on his X (Twitter) account that he later deleted in which he regretted that “everything is shit“and stated that it had not been his decision.

This news comes on the same day that it was learned that the agency that represents the actress Susan Sarandon has disassociated himself from his representation due to his comments in favor of Palestine. The actress also attended a pro-Palestinian demonstration in New York on November 17.
