18 years ago, Patrick Dempsey won the hearts of viewers as neurosurgeon Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd in Grey’s Anatomy (2005). Namely, Dempsey became famous in 1987, when he starred in the teenage comedy Can’t Buy Me Love, which cemented his image as a heartthrob and heartthrob on television and film.

Today, that fame was reaffirmed when People magazine awarded him the crown of the sexiest man alive in 2023.

“I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life,” he said people an actor born in Maine 57 years ago, about which he comes out with a new title on this week’s cover. “It’s nice to be recognized and certainly my ego gets a little boost, but it gives me a platform to use it for something positive,” says the actor, referring to the Dempsey Center, which he founded in honor of his late mother to support cancer patients and your loved ones.

In December, the actor will show his driving skills in a biopic Ferrari, directed by Michael Mann (who received exclusive approval from SAG-AFTRA during the Hollywood actors’ strike). In the film, Dempsey will play Italian driver Piero Taruffi, who competed in eighteen Formula 1 races, having made his debut in this championship at the age of 44. The film, which was presented in competition at the 80th Venice Film Festival on August 31, should be released in cinemas on Christmas. (AND)
