The song “Lustro” is the result of cooperation between musicians as part of the 3rd edition of the Mastercard Music project, the aim of which is to inspire creators from distant musical trends to work together. In this song, Bedoes 2115 and Dawid Kwiatkowski sort of switched roles – the pop artist had the opportunity to test himself in rapping, and the rapper could sing melodiously.
This type of work was new to them. But “Mirror” was created at lightning speed anyway
During the conversation, we talked a lot about the experience that Bedoes 2115 and Dawid Kwiatkowski gained thanks to this cooperation. – I think it would be cool, especially if pop artists tried to enter the world closer to rap at least once, because it is a truly amazing experience. So educational – says the singer.
In turn, the rapper stated that because rap is now mainstream, he did not feel any significant differences in the sound when working on this single, but it was definitely new for him to work in the studio with a pop artist on a song that would be more hip-hop. He was impressed with how quickly Kwiatkowski found his way around it all, because the song was created in just five hours!
You can be a rapper who has no workshop. You can be a pop artist who has no workshop. And you can have a workshop in any of these areas, so it really depends on who wants it and who is motivated to do it. To get out of your comfort zone – says Bedoes 2115.
– We imposed on ourselves that we enter each other’s worlds lyrically and lyrically. We didn’t know each other and you have to write a verse about someone. It was an interesting experience for me. I opened the Instagram of Bedoes, his friends, his entire family 2115 – he was in Miami, so I write about Miami. Well, things that were really exciting for me – Kwiatkowski says about the behind-the-scenes of the cooperation.
Pop and rap, contrary to appearances, have a lot in common, but they also divide us. One of such things are the so-called beefs
Later in the conversation, the artists explain the differences between these two musical worlds on a daily basis. Bedoes 2115 cited an interesting conversation he had with his own mother. He then explained to her what the so-called phenomenon was. beefs, or an artistic conflict in rap.
I tried to explain to my mother what it was all about and she told me: ‘Krzysztof Krawczyk’s fans don’t hate Maryla Rodowicz’s fans.’ And I tell her: ‘Yes, mom, but that’s not exactly what it’s about.’ (…) The most important thing to understand is that it’s a competition. Rap has always been, is and will be a competition about who is better.
In addition, the artists talked about their experiences working with Doda, as well as how much influence their fandoms – Kwiatonators and Bedoesiary – have on their work. However, at the very end of the conversation, I decided to personally thank Bedoes 2115 for a certain song. What song is it about? You will find out by watching the interview until the very end!
