Instead of baptism, a humanist ceremony. “Not in church?!” The price may surprise you even more

The arrival of a baby into the world is a great event. Traditionally, a few weeks or months after birth, it is time for baptism. However, not everyone goes to church for this purpose. Have you heard about humanistic baptisms?

Well, this daughter is beautiful, beautiful. And when is the baptism? But how? Not in church?!

– surely more than one couple who decided to have a humanistic baptism heard similar words from their loved ones. In Poland, church baptism is something traditional, even a natural sequence of events as soon as a child is born. Some people choose it despite their lack of faith, just to avoid difficult conversations with believing family members. Others – because it’s tradition. And here the answer comes from the Masters of Ceremonies who offer to welcome the child into the family in a ceremonial way, but without a religious background.

Almost like a church baptism

Humanistic baptisms have become increasingly popular recently. Why do parents decide to have a ceremony? The answer is simple. Not everyone is a believer, but at the same time they want to properly welcome their offspring into the world and “introduce” them to their family. What does baptism look like and how much does it cost?

A humanistic baptism takes place on a similar principle, it is a humanist wedding. It is led by the Master of Ceremonies, who discusses the entire event with the parents in advance so that everything goes according to their expectations. They can share speeches with the newborn baby and guests, and they can also perform symbolic actions, such as putting a crown or bracelet on the baby, thus welcoming him to the world, society and the entire gathered family. As in the case of church baptism, godparents, called honorary parents, also take part in it. Ceremonies can be very moving, largely because they are personalized and not limited by predetermined requirements.

Price? It may surprise some

To organize such a baptism, please contact the selected Master of Ceremonies. Nowadays, many people offer such services. They can go anywhere and officially welcome a new member of society, surrounded by parents and family. The price of the service itself starts from around PLN 2,000. The rest of the expenses depend on the parents and what place they choose, what decorations, food and gifts.
