For the actor from the Częstochowa area, participating in the cult “Quack” from the early 1980s was a breakthrough moment in his career. Thanks to the role of the miller’s son, Prokop, who broke both legs as a result of an accident and lost the chance to regain full fitness due to the doctor’s incompetence, he gained great recognition.
Barciś is delighted with the new film adaptation of “The Quack”
Although today we associate Barciś mainly with television series such as “Miodowe lata” or “Ranczo”, some viewers remember his debut on the big screen, thanks to which he played in many excellent productions. The actor is also the only person from the cast of “The Quack” by Jerzy Hoffman who decided to play in the latest film adaptation of the novel directed by Michał Gazda.
In this year’s film, he played the butler of the Czyński family. He talked about his role and impressions in an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza”, where he admitted that initially he was quite suspicious of the whole project. – I admit that at the beginning I was skeptical, like most people, because why make again a film that is its own masterpiece? But I started reading the script. I was so drawn into it that I knew it could work,” he said.
He was skeptical at first, but the end result was stunning
The actor was not wrong, as the film was very liked by both the audience and critics. Moreover, the film is breaking popularity records all over the world, where it has already been watched by several dozen million viewers. The good production results do not surprise the actor at all:
Because this story is universal and can happen in any country, and it touches on love, it will be eagerly watched everywhere. I receive letters and calls from friends from Australia and the United States that they have watched it and are delighted – said Barciś in an interview with ‘Fakt’
However, he pointed to the script as the main key to the success of the latest adaptation. – If I see it’s good, I expect the same from the film. I saw what I expected – he assured and admitted that he became very moved during the screening. “I admit that my throat tightened quite a bit,” he said.
