Nerea Mujika, president of the Gerediaga association, explained at the meeting her desire as an organization: “Our fantasy is for Durangoko Azoka to be massive and successful, to be able to promote Basque culture.” And precisely that will be the motto of this year’s edition: “Fantasia DA!”.

The poster for the 58th edition of the Durango Fair is the work of the artist Ximon Agirre (Hernani, 1994). Agirre has stated that he welcomed the proposal “with great enthusiasm” since the Durangoko Azoka is “a great showcase of culture.” “From the beginning I was clear that I wanted to do it in 3D to then be able to enter that world, and I wanted to model it through virtual reality, to have more freedom,” he explained.

Regarding the programming, Beñat Gaztelurrutia, coordinator of Gerediaga, recalled that the deadline is still open for creators to sign up to participate in the Fair; They must do so before October 15 on the Durangoko Azoka website.

No online store

The Durangoko Azoka online store, opened in 2020 due to the situation generated by the pandemic, will not be launched in the 2023 edition.
