What makes Sopsokha village stand out from other villages is the fact that at every step you can find male genitalia carved in wood or painted on the walls of buildings in all possible patterns, colors and sizes. In addition, there is the Temple of Fertility, built in 1499. According to legend, it was blessed by lama Drupka Kunley, who in the process subdued and then imprisoned a demon in a rock. The man was known for his unconventional and even scandalous way of teaching Buddhism and for using paintings and sculptures of male genitalia to fight demons and other monsters.
