The Regulation of the Minister of Climate and Environment of September 9, 2023 changes the method of shaping and calculating tariffs, as well as the method of settlements in electricity trading. Changes in electricity prices. They assume 12 percent reductions
, which are to enter into force 7 days from the date of announcement, assume that electricity sellers will introduce reductions in electricity prices for households, retroactively from January 1, 2023. They are to amount to 12 percent. – Due to the blocking by the opposition Senate of the bill that assumed a 5% reduction in prices for electricity consumed in 2023, the government decided to introduce an alternative solution consisting in introducing the obligation for energy sellers to grant households a discount of over PLN 120. Sellers will be obliged to provide a discount from October 1, 2023, which for some people may amount to a discount of up to one free month of electricity consumption.
Who will benefit from the changes in regulations? Conditions must be met
The regulation sets out six conditions that must be met to benefit from the discount on energy bills. It only takes one of them to come true.
- a reduction in electricity consumption of at least three consecutive months between January 2023 and September 2023 by 5 percent compared to the same period in 2022;
- checking and confirming your data with the energy seller;
- consenting to receiving bills electronically;
- consenting to receiving information electronically from the seller about the products and services he offers;
- being a prosumer of renewable energy;
- submitting a declaration under the government’s solidarity shield (applies to households with a Large Family Card, with a disabled person or farmers).
