After heavy rainfall, the festival authorities decided to close the “gates”. It is forbidden to leave the festival grounds and Black Rock City. All event attendees were asked to stay put, conserve water, food and fuel. More than 70 thousand participants got stuck in the desert. Both the organizers and the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office warned against leaving the Burning Man festival in violation of the ban. Vehicles would get stuck in the mud.
