How can you extend your vacation? The most important thing in planning your holidays is to choose the right dates. By using public holidays, such as holidays, you will effectively ensure a longer rest. For example, if you report a holiday from January 2 to 5, you will actually get a whole week of holidays. This is possible by January 1, on which we are not on duty anyway.
Remember, however, that such extension of time off will not be possible in every profession. The exception is e.g. work to protect or save lives (e.g. doctors or firemen), work to protect property, work in transport, work in uniformed services, or work in trade. In most cases, the performance of official duties on Sundays and holidays is prohibited by the Labor Code. Each leave should also be agreed with the employer.

So when is the best time to take it? In addition to the aforementioned week at the beginning of the year, it is worth reporting a holiday:
- 2, 3, 4, 5, then April 29 and 30. as in January, it is worth using the first week of April. In 2024, Easter falls on March 31. Therefore, Easter Monday falls on April 1. Then, taking a day off at the end of the month, you will extend your barbecue in May.
- 2, 27, 28, 29, 31 May. There is no time off between Labor Day and Constitution Day on May 3, so if you want to extend your holidays, go on vacation on May 2. If, however, you decide to apply at the end of the month, you will rest throughout the week thanks to Corpus Christi.
- August 12, 13, 14, 16. The next chance to extend the leave will not come until August. The Feast of the Polish Army and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary falls on Thursday next year. If you take time off during this period, you will rest from work for the whole week, using only 4 vacation days.
- 12, 13, 14, 15 November. Here, in turn, it is worth paying attention to Independence Day, which falls on Monday. Again, if you go on holiday from Tuesday to Friday, you will get a week off.
- December 23, 24, 27. The last chance to extend the leave is in December. If you want to spend more time at home over the festive period, be sure to report it on these dates.
