Seventeen renowned filmmakers from all over the world will make up the Perlak selection for the 71st edition of the San Sebastian Festival. the reward for the best film award is 50,000 euros and the award for the best European film gets 20,000 euros.

The films that compete in the Perlak section —except for the closing one— are candidates for the City of Donostia / San Sebastián Audience Award, which is awarded by the public attending the first screening of the film.

Jonathan Glazer’s ‘The Zone of Interest’ will open the Audience Award section and Ladj Ly’s new film, ‘Bâtiment 5’, will close it out of competition.
