The TVP Information Center confirms that the decision to remove the programs from the schedule is dictated by his start in the parliamentary elections. “The break in the broadcast of programs whose face is Mr. Bogusław Wołoszański is dictated by his political commitment. The exposure of his cyclical programs on TVP in the pre-election period would be an additional form of promotion of his person, which would be unfair to other candidates” – he informs in an email Gazeta.pl.
TVP assures that Bogusław Wołoszański’s programs will return
For now, fans of Wołoszański’s historical programs must be patient. “After the elections, the program will return to TVP in HD quality” – assures the TVP Information Centre. This does not mean, however, that we will not hear anything about the former TVP journalist on the Public Television in the coming weeks. An example is the material of “Wiadomości” “Platform reaches for discredited characters” from Wednesday evening. Adrian Borecki presented Wołoszański as a “secret SB collaborator” – he had previously said that in the 1980s he signed a commitment to cooperate in order to be able to go to London as a television and radio correspondent.
Both programs broadcast on TVP Historia by Bogusław Wołoszański, who was a TVP journalist until 2005, i.e. “Sensacje 20th Century” and “Encyclopaedia of World War II”, which we were the first to announce. The decision was sudden, hence they continued to be included in TV schedules and electronic program guides. The date of changes in the schedule coincided with the day Bogusław Wołoszański announced his start in the parliamentary elections from the list of the Civic Coalition. Donald Tusk, who informed about this decision, emphasized that Wołoszański’s task was to “demonstrate” Antoni Macierewicz, a former defense minister in the PiS government, who was running from the same constituency.
Sensations of the 20th Century was created by Wołoszański in the 1980s.
Reruns of the “Sensacje 20th Century” and “Encyclopaedia of the Second World War” broadcasts could be watched on TVP Historia five times a week for at least several years. The former even twice a day from Monday to Friday.
Wołoszański worked for TVP for over 30 years, starting in 1971, and in the 1980s he was even deputy director of Program I of Telewizja Polska. He gained the greatest popularity as the host of “Sensacje 20th Century” – the program he created was broadcast from September 1983 to August 2005 on TVP1,
