New limits for seniors who earn extra money for retirement. How much will they be from September 1?
From September 1, 2023, the limits of the amounts that can be earned by those earning extra money in early retirement will change. Importantly, they will not increase, but decrease. According to the Central Statistical Office, the average monthly salary for the second quarter of 2023 decreased from PLN 7,124.26 to PLN 7,005.76, which is PLN 120 less than in the previous quarter. Therefore, in September, October and November the limits for earning seniors will also be lower. How much will they amount to and what are the consequences of exceeding them?
- 70 percent average monthly salary, i.e. PLN 4,904.10 – after exceeding this amount, the benefit will be reduced,
- 130 percent average monthly salary, i.e. PLN 9,107.50 – after exceeding this amount, the payment of the benefit will be suspended.
Currently, the limits are PLN 4,987 and PLN 9,261.60 respectively. It should also be remembered that in the case of a social pension, the same rules apply from January 2023, i.e. it is suspended only after exceeding 130 percent, where earlier it was already at 70 percent.
