She has never been a swimmer and did not grow up playing this sport, but despite this, she wants to try it and learn from it.
“I have to admit that I feel a great fear of the sea, but every time I go swimming I say to myself: ‘Flaca, this is just a puddle, nothing can happen’. It’s my way of tricking my brain into staying calm while swimming. ha ha! But the most important thing is that every day I feel more confident in the water,” she told her community last month.
Overcoming her fears is the reason why the Ecuadorian put herself to the test in this sport, and even now she is scoring in big competitions: “Maybe it’s slow, but my confidence is growing. Every stroke, every breath and every effort brings me a little closer to overcoming my fears and achieving my goals”.

She shared on her social networks that in this race, apart from the usual nerves, she was not very well emotionally due to some changes that happened in her life this year and that disturbed her a little.
“But right before I got in the water, @maurensolano arrived. He saw me sad and crying. She hugged me and reminded me how important I am, that I know how to swim and that I am an example for many people in Ecuador… I felt responsible. It was as if an angel appeared at that moment to encourage me and remind me of that there are many people in my country who practice this sport inspired by me“, admitted the former television host.
Thanks to that hug and her friend’s words of encouragement, she remembered that no matter how nervous she is, she can always overcome them. (AND)
