Footwear brand Skechers has formalized the opening of its new store in Mall del Sol, north of Guayaquil, making it the seventh the brand has opened in Ecuador in the last three years, since the pandemic. In total, the American company has thirteen concept stores in six cities across the country. The store has been operating since last July with the grand opening of the third level of the shopping center.

The new store covers an area of ​​240 m², with more than 900 items including shoes, clothes, hats and other fashion accessories of the brand founded in 1992 in Los Angeles, which is part of the Fortune 500® group of companies.

The company brings innovations to the local market, including the patented Skechers® Slip Ins™, Skechers® Arch Fit™ and Skechers® Máx Cushioning™ technologies.

These Skechers innovations also bring a boost to the labor, economic and business sectors, according to the brand, with the creation of 200 jobs across the country and a significant investment to reach a total of 20 concept stores by 2025, or 7 more stores in the next three years.

Skechers has so far managed to place 400,000 pairs of shoes on the Ecuadorian market in 2022, and by the end of 2023, it is projecting sales growth of 20%. While globally, the company has seen continuous growth over the past three decades and is targeting sales of $10 billion annually by 2026.

Meanwhile, in Guayaquil, to celebrate the opening of this new store, mural artist Gabo Peña will create a 40 m² mural inside the store. The brand indicated that the piece will capture its essence and pay tribute to the vibrant spirit of Guayaquil and its local identity.
