“Bejba” is a word that was one of the most frequently searched words on the Internet by Poles before this year. Stajkow, a representative of our country in the competition, decided to turn biting remarks about her accent into success. It worked, the song “Solo” went viral and although it did not bring the artist victory in the competition, thanks to it she became recognizable not only in our country.
Blanka’s “Solo” sounded during a pilgrimage on the way to Jasna Góra
A few months after the concerts in Liverpool, Blanka is promoting her next song, and the refrain “Solo” has already disappeared from social media trends. As you can see, however, the song is so catchy that it’s still hard to forget about it. It turns out that it can even be used as a background for religious texts.
Participants of the 33rd Kashubian Walking Pilgrimage of the Pelplin Diocese to Jasna Góra made the march more enjoyable with many songs. Among them was Blanka’s hit with new words. The recording with the pilgrims went to TikTok and already has almost 50,000 views.
“I’m coming to you Mother, it’s not easy for me to take the next steps. I’m walking this long road, with harsh weather, even with a sore leg. I’m getting lost, but it’s not bad. She leads me. I give myself into your hands, nothing will break me” – sings a group of marchers to the accompaniment of a guitar. “And I believe, I believe in the Church that Christ the Lord gave me, who transforms me, changes me, but I stay with it all my life – Amen” – sounds the chorus of the changed song.
Shouldn’t a pilgrimage be penitential?
Compliments about the performance poured in the comments. “A better version of baby”, “great”, “peaceful way” – write the viewers of the recording. The representatives of the Męski Różaniec Kraków group were less delighted with the interpretation. An account of the faithful noted that the pilgrimage should be penitential, but the musical pilgrims immediately defended themselves against criticism and pointed out that “life is not only penance”.
This is not the first time that pilgrims change the words of hits for their own needs. Previously, hits such as “Hey Jude” or “Love in Zakopane” gained great popularity on the network.
