The federal budget of the Russian Federation in January-July, according to preliminary data from the Ministry of Finance, was executed with a deficit of 2.817 trillion rubles. The ministry again returned to publishing its estimates of the size of the deficit / surplus to GDP – for seven months the deficit amounted to 1.8% of GDP, Interfax writes.
The last time the Ministry of Finance gave an estimate of the size of the deficit / surplus in relation to the volume of GDP in June 2021 after a pause of nine months. However, after that he stopped doing it again.
Over the past month, the deficit has increased by 222 billion rubles – in January-June, the ministry estimated its level at 2.595 trillion rubles.
In general, a deficit of about 2.9 trillion rubles, or 2% of GDP, is planned for 2023. However, according to Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, by the end of the year, its size may reach 2-2.5% of GDP.
Budget revenues for seven months amounted to 14.525 trillion rubles, which is 7.9% lower than the revenues for the same period last year. Revenues for January-June were estimated by the Ministry of Finance at 12.381 trillion rubles, based on this, in July they amounted to 2.144 trillion rubles.
