Poland is becoming too expensive for tourists? Poles go abroad because it is cheaper

– Of the 31 countries surveyed on the continent, we occupy the 12th place among the lowest restaurant and hotel prices, but we are quickly approaching the EU average with prices – as the Business Insider portal. This means that holidays spent in Poland are not necessarily associated with the prospect of a cost-effective holiday, as it used to be in previous years.

More and more Poles decide to spend their holidays abroad

In the past, holidays spent in Poland were associated mainly with thrift and care for the budget. However, it turns out that we are getting closer to the EU average. In addition, the strengthening of the zloty favors Polish tourists who decide to spend their holidays abroad – they have a cheaper rate in the zloty. “For holidays in 2023, he plans to go over 20.1 million Poles, of which 8.9 million abroad” – we read the survey conducted by Mondial Assistance. According to the Mondial Assistance survey, this year Poles are the destination of a holiday trip abroad most willingly choose Croatia, Greece, Spain, Italy and Turkey. However, it turns out that these are not the cheapest options at all. For example, Croatia, adored by tourists, is 5.4% more expensive than Poland. If you want a cheap rest, it is worth considering a trip to North Macedonia, Turkey or Albania. According to the calculations of the Business Insider portal, these countries are the guarantee of a budget holiday.

On the other hand in Turkey, a Polish tourist can expect a holiday cheaper by up to 41.6 percent. compared to our country. There is no doubt, however, that by choosing a holiday in Poland, we will save on travel costs to a foreign destination – and the prices of air or train tickets can surprise.
