Cleo, actually Joanna Klepko, is currently one of the most popular Polish singers. She also acts as a coach in the music program “The Voice Kids”. Few people know that she once stood “on the other side” of the stage herself – not as a juror, but as a participant. Many years ago, she appeared in the “X-factor”. Perhaps the criticism received at that time resulted in the later development of her career.

Cleo appeared in the TVN musical talent show many years ago, more precisely in 2011. At that time, like many ambitious young people, she wanted her vocal skills to be assessed by professionals. The jury of the “X Factor” program consisted of: Czesław Mozil, Kuba Wojewódzki and Maja Sablewska.
The future star decided to perform the song “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner. After the performance, she heard mostly bitter words of criticism. “It’s not an easy song, but the start was terrible,” said Czesław Mozil. The governor was of the same opinion:However, you are quite average in your extraordinary. (…) We are looking for someone who will be a launched rocket”. In turn, Maja Sablewska admitted directly that she was disappointed: “You enter the stage, I have a very big idea about your performance, and suddenly it turns out that you are suffocating in This song”. Initially, Kuba Wojewódzki even mocked the artist’s pseudonym. The singer confessed that her friends called her Cleo, then the journalist asked ironically: “Can we not say that?” The verdict: three times no.
Polish stars in music talent shows
There are many more famous Polish vocalists who started their careers in various competitions and music talent shows. In “X-factor” we have already had the opportunity to watch the performance of Micha³ Szpak, who delighted the jurors with his talent, charisma and vocals. Dawid Podsiadło also appeared in the same program – as if that wasn’t enough, in 2012 he won the final of the second edition of the music show.
