Director Sergei Popov was hospitalized with a head injury after a fight in the south of Moscow, TASS and Izvestia report, citing sources.
According to Izvestia, the 48-year-old director was injured during filming – he was hit by one of the guards. “For a while, Popov lost consciousness. He was called an ambulance, which took him to the hospital, ”said the source.
The interlocutor of TASS in law enforcement agencies specified that the incident occurred on Monday on Varshavskoe highway. According to him, between Popov and an unknown person there was a conflict that escalated into a fight.
The press service of the Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed to the agency that on June 27 the police received information about the hospitalization of a man, but they did not disclose his identity. “According to preliminary data, he received bodily injuries on June 26 during a conflict with unknown persons in the south of the capital,” RBC quoted the message as saying.
According to the telegram channel “112”, after hospitalization, the director was diagnosed with a concussion. Currently, doctors are investigating how severe the injury is.
