Honorary benefit. Who can apply for them?
Only some seniors and some seniors will receive additional money in the form. Only people who are over a hundred years old can count on them – they will be entitled to bonus cash from the day of their birthday. In most cases, you don’t even need to apply. If a senior receives an old-age or disability pension, ZUS will automatically pay the money together with the benefit received each month. Importantly, anyone can apply for an additional benefit – even a person who does not receive other benefits. In this case, however, you must submit an application to the Social Insurance Institution.
How much is the honorary benefit in 2023? Not everyone will get the same amount
There is one catch when paying an honorary benefit. Not every senior will receive the same amount. It all depends on the date of reaching the age of one hundred, because the benefit is not indexed every year, although its amount is determined anew each year. What does it mean? If a given senior citizen is 100 years old from March 1, 2022 to the end of February 2023, she charges PLN 4,944.79 gross. In the case of someone who has their 100th birthday between March 1, 2023 and the end of February 2024, this amount will be higher and will amount to PLN 5,540.25 gross. – Once awarded, the additional pension does not change and is paid for life in the same amount – Paweł ¯ebrowski, spokesman for the Social Insurance Institution.
