As is traditional, the opening gala of the Guayaquil International Book Fair (FIL Guayaquil). This 2022 marks the eighth installment.
The event was held in the Presidents’ Hall of the city’s Convention Center on Wednesday, September 21. This space will be the center of the literary event until Sunday 25.

During the inauguration they delivered the Donoso Couple Award 2022, novel category, to the narrator Luis Alberto Bravo Pineapple for his novel Asia.
The author received $10,000 and $3,000 for the printing of his book, which will be presented at the next edition of the Guayaquil International Book Fair.
Glory Gallardopresident of the Municipal Public Tourism Company, was in charge of cutting the ribbon, with which the five-day event was declared inaugurated.

After the inauguration, Gallardo told this newspaper that as part of the novelties of the event they have “an enormous and very important literary offer, with eight international writers and 28 national ones.” Also, what is there activities for all ages, for children, youth and adults.
At FIL, attendees will be able to find 52 stands, which are made up of bookstores and publishers. In addition, they will be able to participate in the talks, presentations and book signings, and other activities that will take place at the event.
Hours: from 09:00 to 21:00.
Cost: $3 for adults, $1.50 for seniors and people with disabilities. Free admission for children up to 12 years of age.
