Viki Gabor has had an individual curriculum for several years, but she notices how the Polish education system affects the lives of students. In an interview with a reporter, she revealed what she thought should change and compared the Polish reality to those in Great Britain:
When I lived in England and came here, I was like “wow” because there is much less homework and there is a slightly different approach. Here I think there is a higher level of education and I had to get used to it at first. The only downside for me is that you’re in school for eight hours and you get tired and you have homework at the end of the day. I do not understand this. You’re at school and when you come home you can’t go to sleep or chill out, only school, school and school. A lot of people are stressed because of it. There are so many assignments, you have to hand it all in, because you have Fs later, and it’s very stressful. I think they should let it go a bit – said the young singer.
Viki Gabor on learning English in Polish schools: “Too much attention is paid to grammar”
The singer also speaks English very well. Over the years of growing up in the UK, you can sometimes assume that he has an even better command of this language than Polish, because he often uses English vocabulary. Viki Gabor also shared her opinion on teaching this language in Polish schools.
“When I got some English assignments, it wasn’t English for me. I don’t know a person who speaks English like that. There are some weird words that even I don’t use, and you just don’t say it that way. (…) I think that this English language should be more normal, I’m not even talking about slang, but about such normal things, not such accuracy,” she commented in an interview with Radio Eska. However, in a conversation with Gossip, she confessed that the English exam went the best of all. He is most concerned about his math results.
