During the posed before the cameras of the presentation of the new live action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” from Disney – in the Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid – , photojournalists asked Bardem for “a royal gesture”, to which the actor, winner of an Oscar for “No Country for Old Men” (2007) replied that “that’s only in the movies”. But that is not all.
Before leaving, another of the journalists praised him saying that he was “the best king we have”, a phrase to which the actor who gives life to King Triton responded very clearly: “Long live the Republic.” Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”, which will be released in theaters on May 26.
Directed by Rob Marshall, the new version of the Disney animated classic inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s tale is presented as the story of a young mermaid thirsty for adventure and misunderstood by her father, who tries to keep her in the underwater world.
