In an interview for the portal, Maciej Pertkiewicz confessed that most families who decide to participate in the program face great shame. People are afraid to ask for help and often distort reality, claiming that their lives are much better than their actual situation indicates. “The problem with these families is that they’re just invisible. Nice houses around, neighbors live and no one helped them. He didn’t help because these families are ashamed to ask for help. They live in poverty and apathy, they do not know where to start to improve their situation – said the architect.
Pertkiewicz confessed that the production of the program is not limited only to the renovation. After completing the task, the team is in constant contact with the families participating in the event. “Usually, after a few months or so, we have information about what is happening with the families that appeared in the programme. This is uplifting, because many of them have changed their lives thanks to this, the backstage specialist revealed.

During the conversation, Pertkiewicz also reminisced about his family, which he particularly remembered. He confessed that right after participating in the heroes, they underwent a huge transformation. They used the help they received to the best of their ability. First of all, they took care of the other buildings on the property, carrying out a thorough renovation.
In addition, the children began to develop in their passions, and their mother started working in the profession, which meant that the life of the family entered a completely new level. “We came back to them after some time, and I didn’t recognize the surroundings of this house. It turned out that thanks to the help of the local community, they did a lot of things in the yard: they renovated the utility room, the fence. The guys initiated the construction of the pitch, they began to be visible. Mom began to function professionally, we returned to other people, smiling, willing to live – said the moved architect.
