The Security Service of Ukraine commented on reports of a car bombing by Russian writer and politician Zakhar Prilepin in the village of Pionerskoye. The department, according to Lenta.ru with reference to Ukrainian media, said they could neither confirm nor deny involvement in the terrorist attack.
At the same time, it is noted that the head of the SBU, Vasily Malyuk, has repeatedly emphasized that now Kyiv cannot disclose information about who is behind this or that case. According to him, it will be possible to talk about this only after the end of the military conflict.
Recall that the explosion of the Audi Q7 car, in which Prilepin and his 27-year-old driver Alexander Shubin were, occurred on May 6 in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result of the incident, Shubin died, and the writer received numerous injuries.
In the RF IC, the incident was qualified as a terrorist attack. Alexander Permyakov, a native of Ukraine, was detained on suspicion of involvement in the incident. He confessed and stated that he acted on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the responsibility for the assassination attempt on the writer lies “not only in Ukraine, but also in Western countries, primarily in the United States.”
