Sister Madeleine McCann made her first public appearance. “It’s a sad occasion”

May 3 marked the 16th anniversary of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance. Although many new leads have emerged in the case in recent years, it is still unknown what happened to the British woman. When Madeleine disappeared, her sister Amelie McCann was less than two years old. After 16 years, the girl spoke up.

Madeleine McCann had a younger sibling. They are Amelie and Sean, who were only two years old when their sister went missing. So far, the McCanns have not shown their children in public. Recently, however, the missing woman’s sister finally spoke up.

Amelie McCann is currently 18 years old. Recently, the girl appeared at a vigil held in memory of her missing sister. During the ceremony, she thanked everyone for coming. “It’s nice that we’re all here together, but it’s a very sad occasion,” said the McCan’s daughter. See what the teenager looks like now:

The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann

Four-year-old Madeleine disappeared on the evening of May 3, 2007, while her parents and friends were having dinner at a restaurant. Although the girl and her siblings were left alone, the adults say they visited them from time to time to check on them. On subsequent visits around 10 pm, Madeleine’s mother realized that the 4-year-old was not in the room. After a short search, the police were notified, who immediately launched an investigation. First, the girl’s parents were questioned, and then some of their friends. The case almost immediately became very high-profile – it received great media coverage around the world. The investigation conducted by the Portuguese police was discontinued years later. The case was taken up by the British police, who in 2011 started looking for Madeleine again. Ultimately, however, the mystery of her disappearance has still not been solved.
