Gure Zirkua will visit Maule-Lextarre this weekend on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Seaska ikastolas federation. The circus began its sixth tour on Friday, which will extend its second stay in Iparralde until Sunday, with four performances.
The Tolosa circus offered its first performance yesterday and it has ahead of this afternoon, at 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.together with the one foreseen for the 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. The colorful tent, with capacity for 250 spectators, has been set up in front of the Jai Alai pediment.
The actor and creator of the first Basque traveling circus, Iker Galartza, has told EITB Media that the first session on Friday was “better than expected”. In fact, he acknowledges that, despite starting late, they were “a big surprise” with the people who came.
He adds that he has noticed a difference in customs, since people generally buy tickets on the spot instead of online. So, he knows that for this afternoon they have already filled half the circus and trust that they will fill it completely.
Galartza recalled that they had already visited Lapurdi four years ago, but it is their first time in Zuberoa, and “it has not been easy”. In addition to highlighting the merit of the circus team itself, he has highlighted that “The people here have enormous merit in maintaining our language and culture”.
Tickets will be on sale both on the web gurezirkua.eus like in space itself.
