“Accountants”, a short film by Irati Gorostidi, has been selected for the 62nd edition of the Cannes Critics’ Week. It is a project of the production companies Apellaniz and De Sosa, Tractora and Pirenaika, and is part of the Kimuak 2022 catalogue.

The film, in which EITB participates, is set in Gipuzkoa in 1978: during the negotiations for a new metal agreement, a group of libertarian militants defend their radical position before their factory comrades while they witness with disappointment the fragmentation of the labor movement.

Cannes Critics’ Week, created by the French Syndicate of Film Critics in 1962, will be held between May 17 and 25, and has presented the first or second films by directors such as Jacques Audiard, Alejandro González Iñarritu, Ken Loach, Francois Ozon, and Julia Ducornau. Last year, the Álava filmmaker Estibaliz Urresola presented her short film “Cuerdas” in this section.
