On Wednesday, April 5, the Police in Płoty received an unusual report. An 80-year-old resident of the village called the police station, who had taken in a stray cat. The animal attacked the new owner and was so aggressive that she had to hide from him in a separate room. From there she called for help. As part of the intervention to the apartment at ul. Jagiellonów in Płoty, the police, fire brigade and medics arrived.
The cat terrorized the 80-year-old owner
On the profile of OSP Płoty on Facebook, a photo of an action that can be called rescue appeared. You can see that the 80-year-old woman was freed from the oppression of the dog. In the photographs, we see how firefighters carry the animal out of the block. The whole intervention took place in peaceful conditions and both the woman and the cat were not harmed. As later reported by the press officer of the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Gryfice, Capt. Łukasz Góralski, the animal was handed over to the care of veterinary services and will later go to the shelter.
In an interview with TVN24, Góralski also emphasized that although the fire brigade is prepared for various types of actions, in the case of an aggressive cat, it would be more reasonable to call the municipal guard or veterinary services.

There are many reasons for aggression in cats, and it is especially difficult to deal with if the animals have been traumatized in the past. Attacking the owner is associated with great stress and fear that the animal feels. Then it’s worth stepping back and giving him space. This is important, especially when the animal is in a new place and does not feel confident yet. Do not punish your dog for bad behavior, it will only make him more afraid. Instead, use rewards when he behaves well. If we cannot cope with the behavior of the cat, it is worth asking for help from a behaviorist.
