Senior women of this age group may receive a higher pension. It is worth submitting the application in February

Women who were born between March and June 1956 and receive a pension from the sub-account should consider applying for a recalculation. According to Rzeczpospolita, they can thus increase the amount of benefits received. What criteria must they meet?

Senior women who receive an old-age pension and were born between March and June 1956 may apply for recalculation of the benefit. It is best if they do it in February or March, then they can count on even a dozen or so percent increase. This is related to the change in the regulations on open pension funds and the lowering of the retirement age in 2017. Who can get a raise?

Who can apply for a pension conversion? Several days left

An increase in the benefit, after recalculation, is possible for women who received the so-called periodic capital pensions. As we can read on the portal , they were entitled to women who:

  • were born after December 31, 1948,
  • are over 60 years old,
  • they have a sum of funds saved on their sub-account at ZUS, which is equal to or higher than twenty times the care allowance.

Capital pensions have remained after the previous regulations, which are no longer valid. We are talking about the common age for men and women, i.e. 67 years. In 2017, it was lowered to 60 years for women and 65 years for men. It turns out, however, that the possibility of converting the already received benefit for women who have turned 67 is still possible. Although ZUS will do it ex officio, it’s worth itto submit their application earlier. Why?

Pension higher by several percent. By when to submit an application?

Women born between March 1, 1956 and June 30, 1956 who have not yet applied for a conversion should do so in February or March. – They will benefit from very favorable (because pandemic) life expectancy tables, which will be used for them only until the end of March – explains Dr. Tomasz Lasocki from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. Moreover, women who apply in February, they can count on March , which will translate into a higher benefit by up to several percent. According to Dr. Lasocki, another favorable month for recalculation of the pension will fall only in July.
