This was the performance at the COAC of Los mi alma, the chirigota in which José Yélamo participates

With my soul that appears ghost shaped, I was scared since ‘shiquetito’. And I already knew that I was cursed… and the fact is that people had always told me that I was a paranormal. Paranormal, phantasmagorical and spectacular: the cake chirigota He performed this Wednesday, February 8, at the Gran Falla, within the framework of the third session of the COAC quarterfinals, and it seems, a priori, that he met expectations. In the preliminaries she is one of the most talked about, and in the quarterfinals she has followed the same line, becoming a favorite of alternative juries.

The journalist from laSexta José Yélamo, one of the members of the chirigota this year, already explained that although They will hit “hard” in the preliminaries —which helped him to make the difference—, they have also done it in this quarterfinal pass. The reason: he himself pointed it out: they have “a lot of repertoire” and they trust “a lot” in him. Yélamo, who travels to Seville every week to be able to attend some of the rehearsals, assured that they were all very much in line with perfecting their acting for “keep level”and finally it seems that they have succeeded.

Although the COAC scores are secret until the end of the phase (and until the COAC final if we are talking about the scores of the groups that go through the phase), one can get used to the idea of how things are going thanks to the alternative and unofficial Carnival juries: experts who have been following the Official Contest of Carnival Groups for many years score, some following the same criteria as the official jury and others in a more subjective way, setting a bit of the trend of the year. And this year, three of the most important have placed Los mi alma in the top positions in the chirigotas category.

The members of the jury of the newspaper ‘Bahía de Cádiz’, who acknowledges neither being official nor being “obsessed with coinciding with the official nor with the newspaper of the entire via“, they place Those of the Bizcocho in the first position of chirigotas, although for now only 10 of the 19 that went to the quarterfinals have performed. Even so, in preliminaries they were also very well positioned from the beginning. For its part, ‘Diario de Cádiz’, a more traditional non-official jury, gave it a total of 243 points in this phase, only one behind of what would be the first chirigota of its classification, Those of the verdict. ‘La Voz de Cádiz’, for its part, has also placed them first in the ‘ranking’ of chirigotas, with a total of 248 points, three ahead of the second favourite, Los del verdicto.
