The funeral expenses of the eight people who perished in the human avalanche at the Astroworld Festival will be covered by the rapper Travis Scott. This was announced yesterday by a representative of the artist in a statement.

“Travis is in active conversations with the City of Houston, law enforcement and local first responders to respectfully and appropriately connect with the individuals and families of those involved. These are the first of many steps that Travis plans to take as part of his personal promise to help those affected throughout their grieving and recovery process, ”according to the text of the letter cited by Cnn in Spanish.

According to the American media, Travis “also partner with BetterHelp to provide free mental health services to all those affected by the tragedy ”.

On his Twitter account, the 30-year-old artist expressed that he is devastated by what happened and that he is “committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support families in need.”

Last Friday night, while Scott’s presentation was taking place, an avalanche of people, in addition to the eight victims, left dozens of people injured.

Approximately 50,000 were at NRG Park in Houston when the crowd began to push onto the stage the artist was on and the fatal accident occurred.

Scott, born in Houston, Texas, is also a record producer. One of his albums is called Astroworld (2018), the same name of the festival. (E)
