Four other players are in quarantine, despite having negative test results. The Germans play this week against Liechtenstein and Armenia.
The German team has canceled a training session planned for this Tuesday – ahead of Thursday’s game against Liechtenstein – due to the positive for coronavirus from defender Niklas Süle, while others four players are in quarantine.
Sources from the German Football Federation (DFB) confirmed the isolation of the five players, after the newspaper image and other media will advance the news and the names of those affected.
Süle, from Bayern Munich, was infected despite having the complete vaccine schedule and had already tested positive last year. The player is “asymptomatic and he was immediately isolated ”, detailed the DFB.
The others four players who were quarantined tested negative, but in any case it has been chosen to isolate them because they are people of direct contact.
The DFB has ensured that the situation will not affect the next matches of the selection.
According to German media, the four Quarantined players are Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Karim Adeyemi and Joshua Kimmich, who must leave the meeting place, together with Süle.
“The news is naturally hard a few days before the games. But health takes priority “said DFB director of selections Oliver Bierhoff.

Germany qualification for the Qatar 2022 World Cup is already assured and must play on Thursday against Liechtenstein and Sunday against Armenia.
Kimmich raised a strong stir these days, even in the political sphere, after declaring that he did not want to be vaccinated because he had personal doubts about its effectiveness.
From the government of the outgoing Chancellor, Angela Merkel, this decision has been regretted and the hope has even been expressed that the player will “reconsider” it, although it has been insisted that vaccination will not be mandatory. (D)
