Four Ecuadorian profiles were nominated for the 2023 TikTok Awards, in different categories. The @Busta_brothers, brothers from Quito, participate for the prize LOL Master (comedy) gaining space in the ceremony, which will take place this January 31 in Mexico City.
The users with whom they compete are older, something that makes them nervous, “we are competing with giants of the platform, creators who have a lot of followers and a lot of support.” What’s more, some of them are on his list of favorite tiktokers.
“@Esen_alva is a creator that we greatly admire, he is Mexican and he is very funny. He is classified with us, along with @jairsanchezzz, @rubentuestaok and @DimeSoloCesar; They are our example and to be nominated hand in hand, in the same category, is an honor”, admits Kelly Bustamantethe older of the two.
Together with his “mamánager”, his mother who manages the image, and his other manager official, they will travel to the Mexican capital on January 30 and will stay there until the 4th of next month. “After the awards, which will have a red carpet, what we most want is to be able to collaborate with the great influences of Mexico. There are going to be profiles that we admire a lot, from different categories that we have been following for a long time”.

Kelly indicates that next to David, his brother and the person with whom he shares a user, reached the figure with a lot of effort: “making videos all the time, creativity, support from the whole family and from the public. I believe that the union made the force”. The pair performs family comedy, typical family experiences and sibling content above all.
“We did it in the most innocent way possible. We simply uploaded a video and it went super well, we never expected anything, no economic recognition, we just wanted to make people laugh and somehow it was achieved”, he mentions Kellymarketing student.
When his username @busta_brothers took off, the platform was not yet that famous in Ecuador. “It was when the youtubers jumped, just before the pandemic, we had two million followers there, the quarantine began and shortly after we had seven million, all of a sudden,” recalls the older sister of David.
“Thanks to what we have together, we have become too close. We almost never fight, we get along super well, we have strengthened the brotherhood, we travel together, we eat together, we do everything together, ”she admits. The brothers did want to expand to other territories “we don’t just want to limit ourselves to Ecuadorian content, we want to make everyone smile.”
Kelly mention that when the time comes for David do your studies, she will follow you wherever you go. “He wants to be an actor, so we are looking at study options for him in another country. Obviously if he leaves, I have to go, we are too connected, we have to do everything together. So living in another country for a while, even though we love Ecuador, would be a good opportunity.”
The experience of David It started when I was 12 years old: “At school some friends annoy me, others support me. Sometimes I know how to go through the kindergarten and the little children hug me, that recognition is very nice ”. The two have found a balance between their studies and their career, “there are times when we have to divide ourselves into eight to be able to fulfill the tasks, the media tours, the work, the brands, the content as such”, they describe .
