The beginning of the year is a non-stop of extensions of red carpets. The Golden Globes, the Critics’ Choice Awards, the Oscar nominations… the first quarter of each year is, without a doubt, the film and television awards season, in Spain and in the rest of the world. And although in Spain the culmination is reached with the delivery of the Goya Awards, there are many other ceremonies that honor the seventh art in many ways. Among them are the Feroz Awards, prelude to the Goya, known to many as the ‘Spanish Golden Globes’.
The Feroz Awards ceremony takes place in 2023 in the Auditorio de Zaragoza, the same location that housed it last year, although in this edition it has certain differences. “It is a pleasure to return to Zaragoza to celebrate not only the Feroz Awards, but also the previous events in which we are always surprised by the cinephilia of its citizens, who fill all the sessions and meetings with the filmmakers, demonstrating that their cultural and critical criteria is very high”, assured the president of the IAEC, María Guerra. The AICE is the organization behind the Feroz, the Association of Cinematographic Informants of Spain, made up of more than 230 journalists and critics.
“In these 10 years of life of the Feroz awards The audiovisual industry has evolved and we have had the honor of accompanying the cinema and series in this transformation and in their relationship with the public. Zaragoza is the best possible setting for this celebration”, celebrated Guerra, hand in hand with the deputy mayor of the Aragonese capital, Sara Fernández, who has defined the audiovisual sector not only as “culture” but also as “economy”: “The media impact for the image and external projection of the city in the previous edition was valued at 8.24 million euros.”
When are the Feroz held (and where can they be seen)
Indeed, the Feroz return to the Zaragoza Auditorium on Saturday, January 28. First, the traditional red carpet will start, through which the nominees and other artists and guests will pass, and late at night the awards ceremony will begin, in which the announcements of each and every one of the winners will be exchanged, in film categories and also television. The information that is not yet available is the name of the gala presenters. In 2022, Nacho Vigalondo and Paula Púa were in charge of conducting the ceremony. These are the Fierce schedules:
- 18:30 – The red carpet begins before the ceremony
- 22:00 – The Feroz Awards ceremony begins
To follow both the red carpet and the gala itself, you can do so from the Feroz Awards broadcast on YouTube, a broadcast that begins around half an hour before the red carpet begins, that is, around 6:00 p.m.
