Luna Cantora shows her vision of the ‘Thirty-One’ in her last single of the year

For the artist from Quito Emilia Alarcon Cruz and his solo project Singing Moon (@luna.cantora), the end of the year puts her feelings on the surface and on this occasion she decided to sing them out loud in her most recent single; first after his EP from the beginning of 2022, titled Cortex and last of the year.

Published just over a week ago and available on all digital distribution platforms, Thirty-one It is full of nostalgia and emotion, accompanied by Luna’s characteristic voice, which discreetly conveys a perspective of strong feelings, but at the same time demonstrates a solid harmony, something that has already become a personalized trademark in her works.

Produced together with fellow musician and artist José Luis Freire (@joseluisfreirev) and by Darío Larrondo, this theme adopts minimalism as its banner; which does not mean that it lacks resources, but rather that it makes the most of what it has: the strings, the voices and the emotion at its best.

The sound recalls different Ecuadorian classics and he decides to make this notorious with a small surprise at the end that, although it is barely distinguishable, does not go unnoticed by any of the listeners. The end of the year is near.

The lyrical composition is very intimate and this was reflected at the time the single was made, since different relatives of the artist collaborated on the recording. This evokes the sincerity and warmth of home, an idea that shows the importance of Thirty-one for Emilia, who composed the song in the company of Jean Carlos Alvarado.

Luna Cantora is a young project that is looking for its identity from its roots and local music, something that is gaining more and more value. External sounds are always present, but the national visits us on few occasions. We’ll see what the upcoming New Year holds for this artist. (EITHER)
