the limitless place is an international LGBT film festival that offers spaces for analysis, reflection and integration, free of discrimination and violence, in which it is possible to coexist and learn about the different sexual and gender orientations.

This month the meeting will fulfill its nineteenth editionfrom Thursday 17 to Sunday 27 November in Quito, Ambato, Cuenca, Manta, Machala, Portoviejo and Santa Elena.
During 11 days, 51 film projections of 14 nationalities will be presented, with stories that are still considered taboo, between feature films, short films, documentaries and fiction. The Festival, qualified as one of the most relevant in South Americais a cultural artistic proposal organized by the Quitogay civil association whose objective is to promote cultural artistic spaces in which interdisciplinary dialogues are generated, which contribute to breaking down taboos and preconceptions around LGBTI people.
Quitogay’s work is focused on generate spaces for sociocultural integrationin which are presented LGBTI-themed artistic activitieswhich combine knowledge, entertainment and reflection on sexual orientation and gender diversity typical of any society.

According to a statement from the festival, LGBTI people are still victims of discrimination, exclusion and violence, taking into account the figures from the Case study on living conditions, social inclusion and compliance with human rights of the LGBT population in Ecuadorcarried out by the INEC in 2012. The highest percentage of events take place in public spaces (55.8%), while in terms of exclusion these occur to a greater extent in private spaces (71.5%).
The nineteenth edition of the limitless place has the support of the House of Ecuadorian Culture and the National Cinematheque. It has also been recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage and by the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Creation (ICCA)as an “emblematic and necessary festival for the cultural development of Ecuador.”
