For the first time in history, the Ministry of Science and Education decided to make a game included on the school’s optional reading list. It’s all about the title This War of Mine. “Repeatedly awarded and discussed in pedagogical and social contexts. It is no coincidence that it was the first game in the history of Polish education to be included in the offer of supplementary school readings” – writes the ministry in its release.

Including the production of 11 bit studios in the reading canon is the beginning of a new initiative. Other titles will also be made available under the “Games in Education” program. As the resort notes, video games are one of the key elements of modern culture.

“We encourage the widespread inclusion of educational games in the didactic process of students. Including games in the education system allows the transfer of knowledge in an attractive way for the student, developing soft skills and expanding the limits of imagination” – we read on the Ministry’s website.

As part of the government program, a database of recommended ready-to-download games will be created. In addition, the ministry will propose lesson plans for subjects implemented within the core curriculum.
