Euskaraz irakurri: “Tula” arabar film laburra, Oscarretik gertuago
“Tula”the short film from Alava by director Beatriz de Silva, is one of the fifteen shortlisted to compete for the Oscar for Best Fiction Short Film, as announced yesterday by the Hollywood Academy.
A technical committee has been in charge of selecting 15 films among two hundred finalists, and on January 12 all the members of the Academy will choose the five final nominated short films, among which the Oscar winner will emerge. The awards ceremony will take place on March 12, in Los Angeles.
“Tula” tells the story of Tula, the one in charge of cleaning the bathrooms of a girls’ school. Her day is altered when the director’s fourteen-year-old daughter confesses that she is pregnant.
De Silva has told EITB that he has received the news “very happy”, and now it is his turn to promote his film among the academics, who will decide with their vote if “Tula” will be on the final list of nominees.
