Russian comedian and actress Elena Borshcheva has officially changed her patronymic in her passport to Khuliovna, updating her legal identity to reflect the first name of her biological father.

The comedic television star, who also took the surname Yushkevich following her marriage, shared news of the official document change on her Telegram channel alongside a photograph displaying her newly issued passport.

Borshcheva explained that her previous patronymic, Sergeevna, was originally given to her simply because it sounded pleasant. She said the middle name had always felt alien and foreign to her throughout her life, adding that she was pleased harmony had finally been restored.

In Russian naming tradition, a patronymic serves as an official middle name derived from the father's given name, carrying full legal weight on official identity documents. Borshcheva first rose to national prominence as a key competitor in KVN, short for Klub Vesyolykh i Nakhodchivykh, the long-running television comedy competition that launched major entertainment careers across Russia and neighboring countries. She later achieved widespread public recognition as a core cast member on Comedy Woman, a popular television variety show featuring female comedic talent.

Panamanian father and family connection

Her updated patronymic directly honors her biological father, Julio Santa Maria Guerra, who is a native of Panama. The new legal middle name attaches the standard Russian patronymic suffix to her father's first name, Julio.

Borshcheva previously shared details about her father with fans on social media, highlighting an unusual fact about his lifestyle. She revealed that her father continues to engage in scientific work while actively pursuing a personal passion for brewing beer.

The actress also previously recounted the emotional experience of establishing contact with her parent for the first time. She admitted that she re-read the very first letter she received from her foreign father and wept tears of happiness during their early communications.

Borshcheva regularly engages with her followers online, using digital messaging platforms such as Telegram to share news regarding her personal milestones, family background, and ongoing professional projects in the entertainment industry.
